Dear Spartan Community:
The 4th of July has come and gone, and we enter into August. How quickly the summer passes us by. I do hope that you and your family are enjoying this time together, as we are working all summer to get ready for the opening of the 2025-2026 school year. New staff members have been hired in the Math Department, in the Science Department for Chemistry, the Social Studies Department, the English Department, and the Physical Education Department. A new textbook series has been introduced in several departments, and there will be a strong emphasis in the fall on preparing for the PSAT and SAT exams. Increasing those test scores will be a goal of the entire school in the fall.

Wednesday, September 3: First Day of School for 8th, 9th, and Transfer Students - Full Day
Thursday, September 4: First Day of School for All Students - Full Day
Thursday, September 11: Opening of School Mass - 9:45 AM
Wednesday, September 17: Back to School Night - 7:00 PM

Passing on the Faith
This summer, several students from our high school took part in a religious education program at Our Lady of Consolation Parish, where they boldly shared their faith and served as witnesses to the Word. Two DePaul alumni and one upcoming senior spent their first three weeks of summer as catechists: Sofia Mastellone - Class of '22, Ashley LoMonaco - Class of '25, and Leyla Perez - Class of '26. They taught students in grades K-8 who were participating in the parish program. Through songs, stories, leading worship, and supporting younger students, they lived out the values instilled in our school community. Their commitment and leadership reflect the heart of our mission—to inspire faith-filled ministers of the Word. The high school is incredibly proud of these students for stepping forward and making a difference in the lives of others. Their example is a powerful reminder that our school helps form leaders rooted in faith, ready to serve wherever they are called.
| | 2025 Summer Enrichment Program | | Our 2025 Summer Enrichment Program was a huge success! This summer, we offered Algebra I, English I, Visual Arts, Bible Study, HSPT Preparation, PSAT/SAT Review, Piano Lessons, and a College Essay Workshop with Veritas Essay Coaching. Thank you to all who participated, and a special thanks to our amazing instructors for making it all possible! | | Our 2025 Summer Sports Camps were packed with energy and excitement! Young athletes participated in skill-building, friendly competition, and plenty of fun throughout the summer months! This summer, we continue to enhance our campus grounds and beautify the Alumni Field area. We are also installing a much-needed new roof on the West Wing and renovating our Boys' Locker Room with 84 new lockers. The Girls' Locker Room Renovation will be our next project. Reverend John F. Tarantino
Class of 1968
Congratulations to Reverend John F. Tarantino, who celebrated his Farewell/Retirement at the Resurrection Parish in Randolph, NJ, on June 21st and 22nd, 2025. Reverend John Tarantino is a DePaul Catholic alumnus, Class of 1968, who was ordained as a Deacon in May 1977 and as a Priest in May 1978. He had several appointments in New Jersey, including one at DePaul Catholic High School from June 1980 to 1987, where he served as a faculty member and chair of the Theology Department. The entire Spartan community would like to thank and congratulate Reverend John F. Tarantino for sharing his faith with the DePaul Catholic community and for his years of dedication and service to the church!
