Farewell for Chaplain Jenni

St. John’s Episcopal Church invites SJPDS families to bid a fond farewell to Chaplain Jenni. Join us at a special Coffee Hour as we say goodbye, and celebrate the many ways she has helped each of us grow in her example of grace, courage, and faithfulness. Chaplain Jenni will also be preaching at the 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. services in the Historic Church.

Mobile Ed Forces & Motion Day
|
|
|
|
On Monday, our students learned about Sir Isaac Newton and his three Laws of Motion during an in-school field trip. From playing a live version of Angry Birds to launching a rocket, the experience was engaging.
|

4th Grade's Winter Wonderland Party
|
|
|
|
|
|
The 4th grade class has raised the most money so far this year with a total of $4297 for our Annual Fund! To celebrate, Ms. Appelbaum’s class enjoyed a winter wonderland party. The students watched Mr. Popper’s Penguin, enjoyed treats, and made penguin thermometers! Thanks to everyone who has donated to the Annual Fund. Stay tuned for more contests later this school year!

On Tuesday, our alumni spent the morning with us! They reconnected with old friends over breakfast, helped with student drop off and spent time with their favorite teachers while helping in classrooms.

This year, SJPDS raised over $5,000 to benefit Kenya Connect's library program! We are thankful for our students, staff, donors, and volunteers for supporting our fundraiser to benefit our pen pals in Kenya.

Members of the St. John’s congregation who are
Scouts will be recognized and receive a special blessing.
All Scouts, even those whose programs do not take place at St. John’s, are invited to attend wearing their Scout uniform.
In addition, Scouts who earned an Eagle Scout rank or a Gold Award since January 2018 are invited to showcase their projects during Coffee Hour in All Saints Hall. If you plan to have a display, please contact Stuart Scarborough at [email protected] or 410-461-7793 ext. 117 to coordinate set-up.

Keep collecting those Box Tops!
The submission deadline is
Friday, February 22nd
. Please submit completed collection sheets or a sealable plastic bag of Box Tops with your child’s name, teacher’s name and grade; in order to be entered to win a prize. Collection envelopes are located outside your child’s classroom and a collection box is in the school lobby.

Just in time for Teacher Appreciation Week (March 4-8) and the Chipotle Dine Out on March 25th. The next Scrip physical card order is due Thursday, February 21st with delivery starting Thursday, February 28th.

There are some EASY ways to help support our school and help raise extra money for this school year! The money raised goes toward new school items, “mini grants” for our teachers, as well as to support special events (such as author & zoo visits). Don’t forget to pass the word along to family, friends, and neighbors so they can help support SJPDS. We really appreciate everyone’s participation!

Collect BoxTops from participating products (there are hundreds of them) and submit them in the envelopes outside the classrooms or in the box in the front hallway. You can either tape them on the sheet provided or place them in a sealed baggie. Please make sure to include your
child’s name, grade, and teacher
on the paper and/or sealed baggie. We will collect BoxTops all year! Last year we earned $690.00 and our goal is to raise $1,000 this school year!
