CAMPUS NEWS

New Walk for Wamunyu T-Shirts

Each year the students of SJPDS walk/run to raise money for our pen pals in Kenya. The money has been used to help our friends in many ways; from sports equipment to water tanks to library cards. We are almost out of our previous year's yellow t-shirts and have decided this year to order new royal blue shirts. Yellow and royal blue are the colors of the uniform our pen pals wear so either shirt is acceptable to wear for the walk. However, if you would like to purchase a new shirt for $10 please click the button below for the order form.

Annual Fund Classroom Contest Results

The numbers for the Annual Fund Classroom Contest are in! The winner for the class with the highest percentage of participation is Mrs. Bates's 3rd grade class with 62% (followed closely by Mrs. Appelbaum at 59%, Mrs. Illar at 55%, Mrs. Boarman at 54%, and Miss Montanti at 53%. They have won a Pajama Day (date will be announced by Mrs. Bates). The class who has raised the most money so far this year is Mrs. Appelbaum's 4th grade class with a total of $4297 ! They have won an afterschool Movie and Ice Cream Sundae Party! Thanks to everyone who has donated to the Annual Fund so far this year. Stay tuned for more contests later this school year!

Every gift impacts every student. Donations in any amount are welcome and are tax deductible.

Thank you for a successful Christmas Pop Up Shop!

Thank you St. John’s Parish Day School for your generosity of gifts, time, and spirit which made our Christmas Pop Up Shop a huge success! Another big thank you to the parents, grandparents and teachers who volunteered to help make this event so memorable. This event was brought back to our school by parent, Lisa Hermodsson, as she was a part of it long ago when it was a regular Parent Association event. With her memories, the Parents’ Association set off to create a special time for our children while imparting the gift of choosing and giving to those they love. Each child chose two recipients for whom they shopped amongst the wonderful collection of items assembled through the open-handed donations of our families. The children were thoughtful in their choices and equally concerned about the wrapping of the chosen gifts. I hope the receiving of the gifts was as happy in your household as it was mine and that you are excited about next year. Thank you again, for our SJPDS community and for all that you do to make it home.

Volunteer Parking Space for December

SJPDS Parents’ Association congratulates our Family Game Night Chair: Jeanette Ruiz. She has earned the Volunteer of the Month parking spot for January! At this event, families had the opportunity to mix and mingle while enjoying fun games and pizza. Thank you, Jeanette, for all of the time and energy that you give the SJPDS community!

This February, we will be having a General Membership meeting, which is open to all members of the Parents’ Association. Did you know that all parents, guardians and/or custodians of current SJPDS students are automatic members of the Parents’ Association? More information regarding date and time will be forthcoming. Welcome to Scrip! An effortless fundraiser for the SJPDS Parents’ Association. The idea is simple: you buy gift cards at their face value and use them to pay for various items during your regular family shopping. The SJPDS Parents’ Association receives a percentage of the dollar value of your purchase from the merchant, for the benefit of the school and your children. Did you know you could buy Scrip gift cards for your trips to the movie theater? If you order a Scrip e-card for Regal/United Artist or Cinemark, the SJPDS PA receives 10% of the face value. Just another way that your every day purchases can help support the school and your children.

Friday Folder and Pizza Friday Volunteers

We continue to need volunteers for weekly Friday Folder Stuffing and Pizza Friday help, as well as many different school events throughout the year. There are some EASY ways to help support our school and help raise extra money for this school year! The money raised goes toward new school items, “mini grants” for our teachers, as well as to support special events (such as author & zoo visits). Giant A+ Rewards

Enroll your Giant rewards card using our school code 04414 to begin earning points from each purchase you make. The program began September 7, 2018 and runs through March 16, 2019. Enroll now through January 31, 2019! Last year we earned $1,300. Click here to sign up

BoxTops for Education

Collect BoxTops from participating products (there are hundreds of them) and submit them in the envelopes outside the classrooms or in the box in the front hallway. You can either tape them on the sheet provided or place them in a sealed baggie. Please make sure to include your child’s name, grade, and teacher on the paper and/or sealed baggie. We will collect BoxTops all year! Last year we earned $690.00 and our goal is to raise $1,000 this school year! Click here to register
