ARE YOU BEING CALLED TO SERVE ON THE VESTRY?
Do you hear the clarion? Are you being called to serve on the Vestry?
The Vestry is the Board of the Church along with the rector and is responsible for the mission, business and property of the Church as part Diocese of SE Florida.
Terms are three years with 10 meetings a year. Each class will have four members. We are electing 4 three-year terms for the Class of 2022, 2 for two years for the Class of 2021, and 1 for the Class of 2020 for a total of 7 vestry persons.
Selection takes place at our annual meeting, which will be November 4 in the church following the 10am service. Those elected will attend the November and December meetings with seat and voice but no vote and be part of the 2019 budget process.
In order to serve, a nominee must meet the canonical requirements:
must be sixteen years of age or older;
must be a giver of record (a pledger);
must be a member of St. Luke’s; and
must be regular in attendance
The Vestry meets monthly on the third Wednesday at 5:00PM.
PLEASE GIVE PRAYERFUL CONSIDERATION if you are feeling called to serve. Talk to Senior Warden Edwina Dunworth, or a member of the outgoing class, Carol Adams or Debbie Spoelstra, if you have any questions or are interested in serving. - The Rev Carol Barron+
