Interior Secretary Zinke Announces Proposals to Expand Sportsmen's Access across the U.S.
On August 9, Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke announced two proposals to expand access for hunters and anglers across the country, including expanding opportunities at 10 national wildlife refuges, and 3,595 acres of wilderness area in New Mexico.

Red Snapper, Greater Amberjack Issues Covered at Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council Meeting
The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council met on August 7-10 in San Antonio, Texas. Chris Oliver, the newly appointed Assistant Administrator for NOAA Fisheries, attended the meeting to see firsthand the many challenges facing fisheries management in the Gulf of Mexico.

Governors Renew Push for National Hunting and Fishing Day Proclamations
Throughout 2017, the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) has been leading another annual effort to encourage governors - including members of the Governors Sportsmen's Caucus (GSC) - to issue proclamations commemorating Saturday, September 23, as National Hunting and Fishing Day.

Washington: Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation to Host Western Policy Forum
On August 14, the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation will host a half-day policy forum and reception in Tacoma, Washington. The event precedes the Council of State Governments (CSG) West Meeting in Tacoma the same week and will feature western state legislators, sportsmen's representatives, and outdoor industry partners, who will cover sportsmen's policy issues.

CSF Hosts Booth at the National Conference of State Legislatures Summit
During the week of August 7, Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) States Program Team members traveled from across the country to attend and host a booth at the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Legislative Summit in Boston, Massachusetts.
