Idaho: Governor Otter Signs Proclamation Commemorating American System of Conservation Funding
On August 30, Idaho Governor Butch Otter, Member of the Governors Sportsmen's Caucus, signed a proclamation commemorating the 80
th Anniversary of the American System of Conservation Funding (ASCF). Governor Otter hosted a proclamation signing ceremony at his office with Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) staff, leadership from the Idaho Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus, Idaho Sportsmen's Alliance (ISA), and the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG).

Utah: CSF Participates in Wild Horse and Burro Management Policy Summit
During the week of August 22, Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) staff participated in the Wild Horse and Burro Management Policy Summit hosted by Utah State University in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The goal of the Summit was to provide participants with the best available information regarding the science, management, and policies used to make informed decisions to manage healthy populations of horses and burros on rangelands via implementation of the 1971 Wild Horse and Burro Act. CSF joined approximately 20 other organizations in planning and executing the Summit. Read More > > 

Wisconsin: Legislature Considers Expanding Apprentice Hunting Opportunities
The Wisconsin Legislature is currently considering two companion bills, Assembly Bill (AB) 455 and Senate Bill (SB) 362, which would remove restrictions on Wisconsin's popular mentored hunting program.

Donations Needed for Tropical Storm Harvey Relief Efforts
As images of rescues from the epic flooding in southeast Texas made their way around the nation over the weekend, it was clear that emergency personnel had their hands full. For those of us who hunt and fish, it was not surprising to see so many sportsmen and women, from flats boats, duck boats to airboats, spring into action and assist with the rescues. The boating and fishing industry also answered the call, and companies like BassPro, Yamaha, Academy Sports, Cabela's and others quickly began sending available inventory of boats and motors south. Even CSF's Chris Horton, at the request of Governor Abbott's office, had the opportunity to assist in locating and coordinating delivery of boats.

As the flood waters recede, the real recovery is just beginning. While many of us may not have had the opportunity to tow our boats to Texas, we can still help in a big way. All donations are being directed to the American Red Cross at:  



CSF Welcomes Mid-Atlantic 
States Coordinator
The Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) is pleased to announce Kara Hartman as the newest addition to the CSF States Program Team this week. Kara joins CSF as the Mid-Atlantic States Coordinator, assisting CSF's Northeastern States Director in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
