Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation Urges Advancement of the Resilient Federal Forests Act
On June 26, twenty-five wildlife conservation organizations, including the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation sent a letter to House Natural Resources Committee in support of H.R. 2936, the Resilient Federal Forests Act of 2017. If enacted, this bill would improve the health of federal forests and reduce the threat of wildfires.   Read More > >

Trump Administration Announces Regional Fishery Management Council Appointments
On June 28, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross announced the 2017 Regional Fishery Management Council (RFMC) appointments. Supported by the recreational fishing and boating community, the appointments of Steve Heins of New York to the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council; Chester Brewer of Florida to the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council; and Phil Dyskow of Florida, Dr. Bob Shipp of Alabama, and Dr. Greg Stunz of Texas to the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council, are supported by the recreational fishing and boating community. Recovered Yellowstone Grizzly Bear Delisted from Endangered Species Act
On June 22, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke announced the delisting of the recovered Yellowstone population of grizzly bears from the Endangered Species Act. The Department of Interior will now transfer management authority back to the states and tribes of Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. Read More > >

California: Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation Hosts Annual Wine, Wings & Wildlife Event
On June 22, the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) hosted the 4th annual Wine, Wings & Wildlife western regional event in Sonoma, California. This event brought together members of the sportsmen's community from across the western region for a shooting competition at the Wing & Barrel Ranch followed by reception and dinner at the Barn at Tyge William Cellars.
