Federal Court Ruling Supports State Management of Wyoming Wolves  
Recently, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia issued a unanimous, 3-0 decision to remove Wyoming's wolf population from the Endangered Species List, effectively recognizing the authority of the state to manage the species within its borders. The ruling affirms the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's 2012 de-listing rule that found Wyoming wolves recovered under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and reverses a lower court decision that required continued (ESA) protections despite the federal government's findings.  Read More >>

Georgia: Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus Hosts Indoor Shooting Range Event
On March 9, the Georgia Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus hosted an indoor shooting range event at Stoddard's Indoor Gun Range in downtown Atlanta.  The event provided an opportunity for legislators, legislative staffers, and conservation partners to receive professional firearm training and instruction as well as discuss important conservation issues. On March 15, the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) joined the Illinois Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus in hosting the annual Illinois Wild Game Dinner in Springfield. This event gathered several state legislators as well as members of the sportsmen's community to discuss sportsmen's policy priorities within the state and across the Midwestern region. Read More >>

Iowa: Sportsmen's Caucus Hosts Panel on Conservation Funding, Luncheon
On March 14, the Iowa Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus hosted a luncheon and panel discussion which included conservation experts from across the state who spoke about the future of hunting and fishing in Iowa. West Virginia: Sunday Hunting Legislation Passes Senate
Legislation to expand Sunday hunting opportunities in West Virginia cleared the first major hurdle recently. Senate Bill 345, sponsored by West Virginia Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus Co-Chair Senator Mark Maynard, passed the Senate on March 1 with a 26-6 vote. If enacted, Sunday hunting would be legal on private lands statewide with the written consent of the landowner.  Read More >>
