U.S. Senate Passes Resolution Reaffirming Alaska's State Wildlife Management Authority
On March 21, The U.S. Senate voted 52 - 47 to pass House Joint (HJ) Resolution 69, which nullifies the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) rule, "Non-Subsistence Take of Wildlife, and Public Participation and Closure Procedures, on National Wildlife Refuges in Alaska." After passage, the Resolution was sent to the President's desk for a signature.   Read More >>

Idaho: License Fee Bill Passes Senate, Sent to Governor 
On March 17, the Idaho Senate voted unanimously to pass House Bill 230. The bill, sponsored by the Idaho House Health and Welfare Committee, would raise fees for general hunting and fishing licenses as well as tags, and provide additional funding for depredation and sportsmen's access programs.  Read More >>

Indiana: Governor Holcomb Joins Bipartisan Governors Sportsmen's Caucus
On March 9, the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) welcomed Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb as the newest member of the Governors Sportsmen's Caucus (GSC). Governor Holcomb joins the 29 other governors, and one lieutenant governor, dedicated to protecting and advancing the interests of America's sportsmen and women, and advancing professional fish and wildlife management policy. 

Pennsylvania: Governor's Advisory Council Hosts Meeting on Chronic Wasting Disease and Hunter Recruitment
On March 20, the Governor's Advisory Council for Hunting, Fishing and Conservation hosted their quarterly meeting, which focused on Chronic Wasting Disease and hunter recruitment. The Council is comprised of 20 individuals who provide input on ways to promote and enhance Pennsylvania's outdoor heritage, along with an advisor, Robb Miller, who oversees administration of Council activities.  Read More >>

West Virginia: Sportsmen's Caucus Hosts Breakfast in Charleston
On March 22, the West Virginia Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus hosted a breakfast event in the State Capitol in Charleston. The event provided the opportunity for state legislators, officials from the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources and representatives from local and national sportsmen's groups to discuss conservation policy priorities for the Mountain State.   Read More >>
