Louisiana: Sportsmen's Caucus Lunch Celebrates Conservation Contributions of Sportsmen and Women
On May 9, members and guests of the Louisiana Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus gathered for a lunch at the historic Pentagon Barracks in Baton Rouge. The event provided an opportunity to introduce new legislators to the National Assembly of Sportsmen's Caucuses, as well as discuss various topics that impact the Sportsman's Paradise at both the state and federal level.   Read More >>

Maryland: Governor Hogan Signs Apprentice Hunting Bill 
On May 4, Governor Larry Hogan, a member of the Governors Sportsmen's Caucus, signed House Bill 1427 into law. This legislation establishes an apprentice hunting license, which will allow new hunters to hunt under supervision of a licensed hunter. HB 1427 was sponsored by Delegate Herb McMillan, a member of the Maryland Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus.  Read More >>

New York: Sportsmen's Caucus Hosts Annual Sportsman-Legislator Breakfast
On May 3, the New York Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus hosted its Annual Sportsman-Legislator Breakfast, which was attended by more than 40 Caucus members, state and national conservation organizations, key members of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), and allied-industry partners to celebrate the Empire State's outdoor sporting heritage.  Read More >>

Oregon: Bill to Expand Mentored Hunting Passes Senate, Heads to Governor
On May 9, the Oregon State Senate voted unanimously to pass House Bill 2566, which would expand the ability of first-time hunters to participate in the state's mentored hunting program. The bill now heads to the desk of Governor Kate Brown for her signature.  Read More >>

Tennessee: Governor Signs Licensing Measure to Protect Future State Agency Funding 
On May 9, Governors Sportsmen's Caucus member Governor Bill Haslam signed Senate Bill 454, which will allow the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) to be reimbursed for the issuance of free or partially discounted combination hunting and fishing licenses to persons on or after January 1, 2017. The measure is not retroactive and does not impact existing exemptions or discounted licenses.   Read More >>

2017 Parliamentary Outdoor Caucus Honors CSF Board Member Phil Morlock 
On May 1, the Parliamentary Outdoor Caucus Association of Canada hosted  a reception to reveal the new Caucus logo . During the reception, Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) Board of Directors member Phil Morlock of Shimano American Corporation, was awarded the first Honorary Membership to the Parliamentary Outdoor Caucus for his long-time advocacy for our outdoor heritage in Canada.  Read More >>
