House of Representatives Passes Forest Management Bill to Address Fire Borrowing Issue
On November 1, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 2936, the Resilient Federal Forests Act of 2017, with bipartisan support. Introduced on June 20 by Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus (CSC) Member Congressman Bruce Westerman (AR), this legislation will help improve the health of federal forests and reduce the threat of catastrophic wildfires that are facing our nation.
BLM Panel Approves Wild Horse and Burro Management Recommendations
Earlier this month, the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) National Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Council (Council) approved recommendations for reducing excessive populations of wild horses and burros on federal rangeland, including a resolution stating the agency should remove all "excess animals" within the next three years.
