Apply For The ASAP2Teach Augustus F. Hawkins Scholarship


The ASAP2Teach Augustus F. Hawkins Scholarship provides bilingual education majors up to $7,000 in tuition and fees for bilingual classes, as well as pays for all five TExES State Exams to become a fully certified Bilingual and ESL Educator.

University Highlights

First-Generation Cadet Leads the Charge


Jacqueline Rubio is a first-generation college student and the first in her family to serve in the military. She is also a standout cadet in the University’s Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program, which was established in 2009. Rubio, who credits ROTC with instilling a mindset of discipline, resilience, and service, has enrolled in the National Guard, where she will continue to serve after graduation.

TU CASA Program Hosts Unique Summer Camp


The University hosted its first-ever summer camp for alumni of the TU CASA program, which supports students with intellectual disabilities in building independent, successful adult lives. Funded by a $2.1 million U.S. Department of Education grant, the camp offered 14 alumni a week of educational workshops, social bonding, and career-focused experiences, including financial literacy sessions and visits to local employers.
