"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom."

-Anais Nin-

Tools and Tool Lending Library Coming to St. Clair Superior

Are you looking to fix up something at your house in 2024? Do you have a growing to-do list without the right tools to get the job done? Look no further... your local community development corporation, St. Clair Superior Development Corporation, might have just what you need. Thanks to the folks at Huntington Bank and Ace Hardware, SCSDC will be launching a tool lending library over the next couple of months in the St. Clair Superior neighborhood.

This project is part of a grant awarded to our CDC by Huntington Bank and the tools will be provided by the wonderful folks at Ace Hardware. We will have almost every tool needed for any household project, short of what a general contractor would need to perform the work. So if it’s a small job, or a honey-do list, and you don’t have the tool or tools you need to get the job done right, give SCSDC a call! Don’t spend valuable money on a tool we can loan you.

We will explain the tool lending process and have our friends from Huntington and Ace at our next community meeting on January 31, 2024. Download the flyer here.

*REMINDER: SCSDC has launched a pilot Home Repair Program. Learn more about eligibility here.

Bus Feature: A Cozy, Vintage AsiaTown Airbnb

Another Hidden Gem in AsiaTown

Located on a quiet street in Cleveland’s AsiaTown neighborhood is a home with two cozy Airbnb units, brought to you by hosts Bob and Marcia Garrity who live directly across the street from the duplex. The Garrity's have been in the business of hosting now for 3 plus years and have since earned the title of Superhost, something that speaks volumes for the type of work and service they provide.

The Garrity’s provide a guest-favorite cozy experience. You let yourself into your unit, either the downstairs or upstairs apartment, after handling your reservations and payments through their easy-to-use online portal. The apartment becomes yours to love, rest, work in and enjoy while you’re in town. At this location you’re close to all the Downtown, AsiaTown and St. Clair Superior amenities, venues and restaurants.

The Garrity's love the culture and community of their neighborhood, along with the fact that their space is close to downtown, sport venues and all the great restaurants and activities Cleveland has to offer. Outside of being Airbnb hosts, the Garrity’s are urban farmers, with two bee hives and an upstairs yoga studio in one of the homes on their cozy compound.

So, when you’re in the Cleveland area consider staying at one of these cozy Airbnbs in the St. Clair Superior community.
