Roadprintz: Robots Revolutionizing Roadwork—Made in Cleveland!

Roadprintz is changing the way we see roadwork—literally! This Cleveland-based company, founded by Wyatt Newman (CWRU professor) and Sam Bell (automotive expert), has developed operator-driven robotic trucks that make road and pavement marking safer and faster. With $1.5 million in federal support and four patents, Roadprintz’s technology is manufactured right here in the former White Motors space, using locally sourced materials. Their new operations facility at 7514 Bittern Ave is a hub of innovation, and live demonstrations show how Clevelanders are leading the way in research and safety for roadwork worldwide.

St. Clair Superior's Newest Mural

Our neighborhood's newest mural is complete! We want to thank Rafael Valdivieso for the hard work, long hours and creative energy that went into designing and painting this mural for our community.

Similar to Rafael's other work, his art is dense and richly detailed: large murals and smaller works alike are filled with figures, faces, flora, fauna and symbols interwoven in vibrant color. These compositions explore themes of human joy and struggle, migration, identity and the liminal spaces between his Ecuadorian roots and his life in America

What's Been Going On in St. Clair Superior?

September Community Meeting: New Ward 8 City Council Candidate Forum

The recent St. Clair Superior City Council Candidate Forum brought together residents, community leaders, and local candidates Councilwoman Stephanie Howse-Jones and Charlotte Perkins for an engaging and informative evening at Kovacic Recreation Center. The forum drew a strong turnout and highlighted key neighborhood priorities, including housing, safety, economic development, and equitable growth. Residents appreciated hearing directly from both candidates and having a chance to ask thoughtful questions about the future of new Ward 8. The event reflected the community’s growing civic energy and commitment to shaping local leadership. Looking ahead, St. Clair Superior Development Corporation plans to continue hosting forums like this to strengthen civic engagement, foster accountability, and ensure every resident has a voice in the decisions shaping our neighborhood’s future.

We extend our sincere thanks to Councilwoman Stephanie Howse-Jones, Charlotte Perkins, and all the residents who attended and contributed to a meaningful discussion about the future of our community.

Hook ‘Em High Fishing Club Season Wrap-Up

On September 27th, the Hook ‘Em High Fishing Club held its final fishing session of the season about 45 minutes east of St. Clair Superior at Punderson State Park. The day ended with an exciting award ceremony, where participants received fishing medals, rings, and wrestling-style fishing belts for achievements such as most fish caught, rarest fish, and largest fish.

A huge thank you to Charles Williams for founding St. Clair Superior’s first fishing club! Through his program, Charles has not only taught families how to fish but also helped strengthen the bonds between parents and children. We’d also like to thank Neighborhood Connections for supporting this effort through the NeighborUp Action Grant.

Ohio CDC Conference 2025: A Presence for St. Clair Superior

This past September 17th-19th, Britiny Hubbard, Community Engagement Manager, and Mia Basit-Hightower, Cleveland Foundation Fellow, attended the Ohio CDC Association annual conference held in Dayton, Ohio at the Dayton Arcade.

Over the three days, they engaged in workshops, panels, and networking sessions focused on community development, capacity building, equitable investment and strategic planning. Their participation allowed them to bring back fresh ideas, deepen partnerships across Ohio and align SCSDC’s initiatives with statewide best practices in community development.
