Open Board Meetings
The coronavirus pandemic has prevented the board from scheduling open meetings so far this year, but we plan to do so when conditions permit it. In recent years, the board has scheduled two open meetings in addition to the annual meeting in January, but we are unable to say how many such meetings will occur this year. If there is a matter you'd like to bring to the board's attention in the meantime, feel free to contact me or the other directors directly or send an email to

Monitoring Pool Attendance
Your HOA board and Recreational Facilities Committee want to thank all of our members who have enjoyed the clubhouse pool and still complied with the mandatory regulations that the state and county have made us follow in order to keep the pool open to the public. We ask that you keep up the spirit of doing everything you can to keep the pool area safe and share your time in the pool to a maximum of 10 persons at a time, especially on weekends and the hot July days ahead.

Some of you have asked why board and RFC members have been monitoring the pool’s attendance and adherence to the state’s rules. This is because the state’s legal counsel has warned public pool operators that without a full-time pool supervisor, just posting signs and allowing self-policing would not stand up if challenged in court. Since we have no full-time staff, the county health department has advised us to have volunteers keep a log of activity in the pool. This record book must be available for inspection by the county health inspector at any time without notice.

Others have asked if the hot tub will be opened this year. I am afraid it will not. The county health inspector has ruled that the tub is too small for more than one family unit at a time. We would need a full-time lifeguard to monitor the usage since self-policing is not advised.

Again, keep up the good work in this difficult time - your HOA Board of Directors.
Springs Beautification Update
Credit is due to all our committees for refusing to let COVID-19 stop them from making our community function so smoothly and efficiently. One case in point is our Springs Beautification Group.  The group had hoped that by now they would have had several meetings to come up with plans to work their horticultural magic on our clubhouse area. COVID-19 has forced them to put that plan on hold, but the virus did not stop them from planting our traditional flower beds at the front entrance and gate. It was an “individual” group effort with one person assigned to one section or one of the six flower beds that greet us as we arrive home. Big thanks to volunteers Sally Barnhart and her son, Bradley, Dan Field, Curtis Ish, Jim and Patsy Johnson, Cathy Moore, and Robin Thomas for a job well done.

July 4th Celebration
The July social event is planned for July 4 from 6 PM to 9 PM (rain date July 11) at the clubhouse. We will be outside following the State of NC COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. Box lunches will be provided.
Please RSVP for a box lunch count with any dietary considerations and have your orders in by July 1 . Bring your own chairs and beverages. Water and soda will be provided.

Come and join the festivities!  For entertainment, we will have music and bingo (with prizes) for those who would like to participate. If you play a musical instrument, please bring it for impromptu entertainment.

Also, decorate your bicycles, ATVs, golf carts, etc. for the best-decorated vehicle. Prizes will be awarded for 1 st , 2 nd , and 3 rd place. We look forward to bringing the community together for our first event of the year.
