Over the past few years, our community has enjoyed a steady rate of home growth. There are over 100 homes with the vast majority occupied by full-time residents. As our community continues to grow, we have more and more vehicle traffic on our streets. Residents, day workers, guests, construction workers, etc. all add to the number of vehicles driving in and out during the day. Some of this traffic drives at speeds faster than it should. The terrain of the area lends itself to vehicles gaining speed well beyond what is safe. It is not unusual to look down at your speedometer while driving and see you may be going 35, 40, 45+.
Many of us enjoy walking on our narrow streets. The curves and hills result in coming upon pedestrian traffic without much reaction time for either party. Adding to this deer, pets (which must be on a leash but sometimes get loose), and other animal friends who like to share the road with us, can make conditions unsafe when driving too fast.
Please travel our streets at the recommended 25 mph. Yes, it may take an extra 60 seconds for you to get home (or out the gate), but we have beautiful surroundings to enjoy as we go, and everyone will be safer as a result. Thank you for your cooperation and be safe on our roadways, as well as the highways outside the community.
