News Circling the Square
Thanks to everyone who has reached out to inquire how to support Square merchants during these challenging times.  As you are aware, small businesses are being hit especially hard by news of COVID-19.   Independently owned businesses don't have the option of support from corporate headquarters and rely heavily on business from their regular customers like all of us.

How can you continue to eat local and shop local as we are being urged to stay home?
  • Order take-out. As per a mandate from Governor Baker, Massachusetts restaurants are open for pickup/takeout and delivery only.  The majority of Square restaurants offer door-to-door delivery by their own staff or through DoorDash, Grubhub, and Uber Eats
  • Buy gift cards.  Your purchase will help the small businesses maintain their cash flow to pay their rent and other fixed costs. Whether it's a retail shop, a salon, a restaurant or a service, purchase cards now and then use them when you need to. Many merchants offer gift cards online. If not, give them a call and ask that they mail the cards to you.

For takeout orders at restaurants, call ahead so your order will be waiting for you.  Pay online or over the phone as they're happy to offer curbside pickup.
Farmers Market to Open June 17th
13 weeks from today the Dedham Farmers Market is scheduled to open on Wednesday, June 17th.  While it seems like a long way away, it will be here before we know it!  We look forward to warm afternoons on the First Church green with loads of fresh and local produce and specialty foods, along with health and wellness items.  Think summer!
