News Circling the Square

Calling All Creative Kids!
Can you help? We need more volunteers to create colorful paper hearts to be displayed in Dedham Square storefronts to help spread some cheer and positive vibes! Kids of all ages are invited to participate. Just cut out heart-shaped pieces of paper and write or draw on them with your messages of hope for our community as we face these difficult times together

Kids can say thank you to our essential and frontline workers, show love for their schools and teachers, give a shout out to their favorite Dedham Square businesses, express happy thoughts or share any-thing that might bring smiles to people's faces. Hearts can be dropped off to the bin in front of the Dedham Community Theatre or mailed to Dedham Square Circle, P.O. Box 593, Dedham, MA 02027. #dedhamsquareheartsofhope
Virtual Dedham Crawl Kicks Off Tonight at 7 pm
What exactly is a Zoom Crawl? It's a fun way to socialize and connect with the community from the comfort and safety of your own home!  Serving as cruise director and social chair of this event is longtime Dedham Square Crawl organizer and Dedham resident, Peter Springer. The Zoom Crawl kicks off at 7 pm and runs until 9 pm and will feature solo performances by local musicians.  Click here for more info.

Square restaurants offering takeout, curbside pickup and delivery
The majority of Dedham Square's restaurants remain open and their staff is working hard to prepare meals to satisfy and comfort all of us. Ordering takeout is a great way to treat yourself during this stressful time and it's an easy way to continue to support the independently owned eateries in the Square and around Dedham. They need our patronage now more than ever. Your business is appreciated more than you know.

Click here  for a list of which restaurants in the Square are open along with their phone numbers and links to their websites. We're updating this list frequently so be sure to check back.

Countdown to Opening Day

In less than 7 weeks the Dedham Farmers Market is scheduled to open on Wednesday, June 17th.  We're in the process of adapting our market operations to meet the state's COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions to ensure a safe experience for our market patrons and vendors.   We'll be sure to share any up-dates and announcements as soon as we have any new information to share.

Again this season, the market will kick off at 2 pm and run until 6 pm through the end of October and will be held on the beautiful green at First Church of Dedham, across from the Dedham Community House.  We look forward to welcoming back all of our longtime market supporters and meeting new ones as well,  We'll share more details about our vendor lineup in our next issue of The Square Scoop but to stay in the loop follow us on Facebook.

Congratulations to Salem Food Market owner Freddie Zagami and his team at Salem Food Market who were recognized by Boston radio stations Jam'n 94.5 and 101.7 The Bull! Salem Food has been providing meals to health care workers and first responders throughout the area. Awesome!

An anonymous donor made a generous donation to Horse Thieves Tavern to help feed first responders in our community. These heartwarming gestures sure do help boost your spirits!
