Spiritual Journey: St. Jean Baptiste Feast Day Mission
by Emmie Hershey
|
|
Wow! What an amazing experience seeing God’s hand at work and to be able to experience it with fellow St. Philippians ... well, let’s just say it is something that both my son, Clay Hershey, and I will never forget! From the fellowship amongst all of us seven St. Philippians who went on the trip to seeing the fruit of the many years of relationship-building that Gerry and Suzanne have cultivated over the years, it was truly a remarkable experience!
Miles Barkley, Gerry and Suzanne McCord, Sam and Carol Robinson, and Clay and I left Charleston on June 19 despite the riots occurring in Haiti. From the moment we landed in Haiti, my son and I knew that we were out of our comfort zone, but it was extremely comforting to know that all the St. Philippians with whom we were traveling had done this trip numerous times before.

College Fellowship Bowling Night
|
|
Back row, L-R: Sadie Dubay, Alexander Read, Joshua Torrence
Front row: Cat Gibson, Fr. Ryan Streett, Coby Tucker, Sarah Silcox, Grace Echols
On Wednesday, July 3, the Rev. Ryan Streett and seven members of his College Fellowship group each bowled perfect 300s at Ashley Lanes in West Ashley! Actually, there were no perfect scores, but the conversation, laughter, and fellowship (and occasional gutter ball) made for a perfect evening. If you’d like to join the group on their next evening, please contact Ryan at
rstreett@stphilipschurchsc.org or (843) 601-1120.

Please consider joining the St Philip’s Choir for the summer––a commitment of only two months! No rehearsals––we meet at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings to learn familiar anthems for that day. Singers are especially needed on July 28 and August 4 because of planned absences due to vacations and the children’s choir trip. Please contact Pat Gould at
