ERS-3 On-Site Observation Trainings Starting Soon

We are excited to begin our Environment Rating Scale training series on all three ERS-3 tools that will be an option for On-Site Observation with the upcoming GSQ revisions in February. The ERS-3 tools will also be used for self-reflection in the Reflecting on Quality level for Great Start to Quality.

Our trainings will provide overview of all three tools being used FCCERS-3 for Family Child Care, ITERS-3 for Infant Toddler Educators, and ECERS-3 for Preschool Educators. You can learn more about these tools on our ERS-3 page on our website. We encourage you to review the ERS-3 scale book for your setting. Great Start to Quality Resource Centers have these books available in their lending libraries or you can view online.

All trainings will be free and registration available in MiRegistry. In December we will offer training on the ITERS-3 tool, and then in January on ECERS-3. More information on these two trainings will be shared as we get closer to training dates and be sure to check our website regularly for any updates. See below for FCCERS-3 training information.

Validations in Progress

Because of the system transition, Self-Assessment Surveys were due by 11:59 pm on October 14, you can imagine that there was an extremely large volume of programs that entered Validation. Please know that each Validator is hard at work, processing each program's submission . We are working as efficiently as possible to get to all programs promptly and will be reaching out to schedule the Validation as quickly as possible.  Know that it may be a few weeks before we can reach out.

If you have questions about the validation process, please contact validation@ecic4kids.org
