The school year has begun and we are busy, busy, busy!  Join us for our September meeting on Monday, September 12, at 6:00pm in the Media Center at Seneca.  We have lots to talk about!  Make your voice heard.
Give Local Louisville Coming Soon!

Give Local Louisville is a 24-hour local campaign organized by the Community Foundation of Louisville to benefit non-profit organizations all across the region.  Last year, Give Local Louisville raised a record $3,000,000 for non-profits in the area!  This year Seneca Past and Present will take part.  Be inspired and help Seneca Past and Present pour into the Seneca community!  Plan now to donate sometime during the 24-hour period, midnight - 11:59, on Thursday, September 15.  You can make your gift go further with prizes, Golden Tickets and bonus dollars!  On September 15, go to www.givelocallouisville.org and search for Seneca Past and Present.  Follow the prompts and donate securely via credit card.

We hope you'll help us spread the word!  Tell your friends and family about Give Local Louisville.   If you're on social media, you can spread the word there.  Use the hashtag #GiveLocalLou to  create buzz around this event, and be sure to tag us in all of your posts - @senecapastpres.   Doing so will help guarantee success for Seneca Past and Present!  Follow us on Twitter to keep up to date on all the details and if you aren't already following us, start today!
Come One, Come All!

The Seneca Redhawks are ready for football.  Are you?  The first home football game is Friday, August 19, at 7:30pm against the Fern Creek Tigers.  Seneca Past and Present will be on hand with hot dogs for alumni.  Come and see us and check out the new shed erected on the grounds for storage.  There are a lot of new things going on at Seneca.  Now is the time for you to get involved!  So, whether you are a former football player or not, stop by the tent and find out what your alumni association is doing at Seneca!
Tom McCarthy, former Principal, dies at 82

On July 21,2016, Seneca High School lost one of her long-time employees and friends.  Tom McCarthy began his career at Seneca as a biology teacher, then a counselor and finally as the Principal.  Later he was Principal at Durrett and Valley High Schools.  See the full article here
More Seneca Stories

We hope you enjoy two new stories from Sam Denny '69.  One is a personal experience with 'The Greatest' and the other is a listing of some quotable comments from the Class of 1969.  We are always looking for the personal stories from Seneca alumni, email us here if you have something to offer!
Seneca Hall of Fame Banquet

With the announcement of the inaugural class of the Seneca Hall of Fame, we are planning a banquet to honor all of those folks on October 22, 2016.  Tickets will be available for purchase and details have not yet been released.  Check the website and stay tuned for more information!
