VBC Celebration
VBC Family Night celebrated the 185 VBC children and their families. Singing filled the Fellowship Center and the evening ended with ice cream treats. Our mission project to collect underwear for children at Oasis for Orphans in Kenya was a huge success too, with 1800 pairs of underwear collected and an offering of $1228 received. Thank you!

Two years earlier, after finishing fourth at the Helsinki Olympic Games in an event he was favored to win, Bannister set a goal to accomplish his remarkable feat.

No doubt Bannister needed repeated encouragement to overcome obstacles while in pursuit of his goal. I know the feeling and am sure you do too. When we’re up against the proverbial wall, encouragement urges us onward. What have been your sources of encouragement? In Philippians 3...

Congratulations to Sally Hecht and Roanne Wallace on Bishop's Award
This Sunday, at the 9:30 am worship service, we invite you to help us congratulate two PVUMC lay leaders, Roanne Wallace and Sally Hecht. They received the Bishop’s Award for 2018 from Bishop Robert Hoshibata at the Desert Southwest Annual Conference in June. The Bishop shared that the Conference was poised to do something special, but it needed a vision. Wallace and Hecht worked long and hard to help the Conference create the vision to be a courageous church, loving like Jesus,
acting for justice, united in hope. They imparted their wisdom gleaned from their experience as consultants in the corporate world and working tirelessly with the teams. The Bishop honored their service and invited the Conference to greet and thank Wallace and Hecht. This Sunday, the PVUMC congregation has an opportunity to greet and thank them too. Read More
Desert Scroll Changes Announced
The Marketing and Communications Ministry Team conducted a short survey in June to ask you how you receive information from the church, how easy or difficult it is to find information in all the places we share it, and whether or not you subscribe to the weekly From Paradise E-News. Nearly 75 percent of the 110 respondents said they DO subscribe, and that's good news! The Desert Scroll newsletter was among the top five ways you get information, equal to the E-News, also good news. Even so, the church and our team announce that change is coming.
