"The Automobile is the Art"
The 1964 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso

The Mona Lisa of Modena!

Being totally enchanted by automobiles since I discovered Hot Rod and Motor Trend magazines in the library at Fairview Grade School all those years ago, I have learned that there are collectors and then there are…..connoisseurs. Dr. Mark Lindman is a true connoisseur of classics. Mark and I have been friends for more than 30 years, but he is more than a real friend, he is the real deal. Mark is just as comfortable behind the wheel of a Porsche race car diving into Turn 5 at Road America as he is brushing shoulders with the world’s elite at the Ferrari Cavallino Classic Concours d' Elegance in Palm Beach where the manicured lawns are as velvety soft as the pillow on a baby’s bed.
As humble as a Tibetan monk, Mark deftly sidesteps attention preferring to redirect the limelight toward his stunning 1964 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso. You don’t have to be fluent in Ferraris to appreciate perfection. Everything one needs to know about a Lusso can be captured in one simple sentence. The Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso is the Mona Lisa of Modena! As sensual and sophisticated as Sophia Loren, only 350 of these Pininfarina-designed masterpieces ever exited Ferrari’s Modena factory between 1962 and 1964. Simply stated, car collections don’t begin with a Lusso, they end with a Lusso!
It was a carefully calculated climb for Mark as his collection over the past three decades spanned high-performance European sports cars to his exquisite evolution to the prancing horse. Included in that journey was a favorite of mine, his low production 1957 Ferrari California Spyder. Not content until he scaled his own personal Everest, parked at the summit was this 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso which Mark graciously transported from New York City to The Automobile Gallery & Event Center for Festa Italiana this Saturday. That’s a true friend.
I hope you will take advantage of this chance of a lifetime to savor the beauty of Dr. Mark Lindman’s Lusso at Festa Italiana. We’ll also be savoring the historical significance of a milestone that happened 76 years ago to the day. May 20th, 1947, Enzo Ferrari and the 9-day-old company that wore the Ferrari name, won the Rome Grand Prix with Franco Cortese driving the Ferrari 125 S race car.

The sleek 125 S was the first Ferrari ever produced. The “best” Ferrari ever produced? That debate will never be won. The most beautiful Ferrari? Many Ferrari owners will tell you without hesitation that it was…… and always will be the 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso!

Come and experience Dr. Mark Lindman’s exclusive 1964 Ferrari Lusso and 60 other exquisite makes and models of Italian Cars dating back to 1936. See them all at Festa Italiana this Saturday from 2 – 6 pm at The Automobile Gallery & Event Center. Click HERE to get your tickets now!
