THE MEADIAN
Summer Edition 2018
The Summer is off to a sizzling start in more ways than one. While the temperature has heated up, so has our Memory Matters capital campaign.

Rev. William Danaher, Karlah Gibbs and Bishop Wendell Gibbs |
First, we hosted the 2018 Breakfast with the Bishop, presented by Christ Church Cranbrook, at the Detroit Athletic Club on June 8.
An inspirational morning and fundraiser for the Memory Matters Capital Campaign, the event combined information, inspiration and humor delivered by Bishop Wendell N. Gibbs of the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan and our host, Reverend William J. Danaher of Christ Church Cranbrook. PNC Bank Vice President Jason Paulateer delivered a serious, educational message about financial elder abuse prevention. According to the American Association of Retired Persons, one in five senior citizens experience financial exploitation each year. Jason informed us about the Seniors Safe Act, which allows banks and credit unions to report suspicion of elder abuse to law enforcement.
Special thanks to the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan, Christ Church Cranbrook, Doyle & Associates PLLC, PNC Bank, John Lynch & Anne Hiemstra and Hour Detroit Magazine for an elegant morning!

Then, on June 27 we hosted a grand opening celebration and hard hat tour of our memory care home, which will open this summer! More than 150 guests enjoyed award-winning hors d'oeuvres, live jazz, an upbeat program and tour. The event was staged in the Christ Church Cranbrook dining room.
