• Summer Solstice
"Hye Woh Hye," ‘that which does not burn, imperishable enduring,’ is one of the Adinkra symbols created by the Akan people of Ghana. The symbols are used to help convey complex concepts. The sun is an ancient symbol in the psyche of humanity. It represents reliability, strength, stamina, longevity, awakening, revelation. “Hye Woh Hye” seems like a good description for the Sun.

Our Sun is estimated to have formed 4.6 billion years ago. It has not changed dramatically in that time and probably won’t for another 5 billion years when the Sun is predicted to become a red giant, experiencing a marked increase in density and temperature while its outer layers expand. June 21 st is the longest day of the year for the Northern Hemisphere. The start of the summer season. I wanted to make the Adinkra symbol into a graphical representation of the Sun without making major changes to the original symbol.

Above is a short animation for the Mistakes T-shirt.

Message: "Is it a mistake or an unexpected outcome?"
Above is the illustration for the Is It True? T-shirt.

Message: "Do you believe it because it is true or is it true because you believe it?"

The breach in trust was unsettling. Recently I have read about how some corporations, in the name of improved efficiency and productivity, are collecting data on their employees. How is the data collected, interpreted and used, is the data secure?…

The national holiday is coming up fast. There are a lot of things to consider this year as we celebrate 13 North American colonies declaring their independence from Great Britain. Many questions about the functioning of our democratic republic have been illuminated since the 2017 inauguration. The laws and institutions developed by this country to ensure some semblance of democracy are being pushed to a breaking point by the executive branch and the legislative party in power. Be careful of the fireworks.
