Countdown to The Summit of Hope

The Summit of Hope is one week from today.

It’s not too late to be a part of The Summit of Hope at The Lakewood Cultural Center. RSVP now to guarantee your seat. Don’t miss your chance to connect and celebrate at The Arc-JCCGC’s signature annual event.

Everyone is welcome at The Summit of Hope. Invite friends and colleagues to RSVP and attend The Summit of Hope so they can learn more about The Arc-JCCGC and our wonderful community. Let's all get ready to be empowered and uplifted by:

  • Inspirational stories that dispel misconceptions about people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  • An unscripted informative discussion encouraging audience members to ask questions and learn from our event’s presenters who have lived experience in advocating for people with IDD.

  • Opportunities to connect with likeminded people who are committed to valuing and respecting everyone in our community.

  • Good food. Conversation. Celebration. Belonging.
Don't Miss The Summit of Hope on Wednesday, September 27 at Lakewood Cultural Center. There are two time options: 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. or 6 - 7:30 p.m. The program at both events will be the same, so you can choose the one that fits best with your day!

This event is free, and pre-registration is required. For more information and to RSVP, click here. Hope to see you there!

Can't attend? Donate now to help The Arc continue to provide support and guidance to people with disabilities and their families.

Denver Housing Choice Voucher Lottery - Opens Tomorrow!

The Denver Housing Authority (DHA) will launch its Housing Choice Voucher lottery tomorrow morning - Thursday, Sept. 21 - at 12:01 a.m. and close it just under two days later - this Friday - Sept 22, at 11:59 p.m.

Based on budget projections for 2021, each lottery applicant has a roughly 6% chance of having their application pulled, according to DHA. Eligibility information, including income requirements, is available by clicking here.

Interested in participating? When the lottery-entry period opens, get to a phone, tablet or computer with internet access. Then fill out your application at the DHA website. If you need computer access, DHA runs two centers, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.: one at Westwood Homes at 855 South Irving St. and the other at North Lincoln Homes, at 1401 Mariposa St.

According to DHA:

  • Never pay money to apply for housing.
  • Only one entry is allowed per household.
  • Once the lottery closes, DHA will begin with an automated/random drawing throughout the following year. Lottery numbers do not carry over from year to year.
  • Selected random applicants from the lottery will work with DHA’s Admissions Department on next steps.
