IPAL Presents Annie
NEW IBERIA, La. --- The Iberia Performing Arts League is pleased to present our summer children’s musical, Annie, directed by Katelyn Gulotta.

The production will open July 12 and run for two consecutive weekends, closing on July 22. The production will be at IPAL's Essanee Theater located at 126 Iberia St. in beautiful downtown New Iberia. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and 3 p.m. Sunday afternoons.

Annie is a Broadway musical based upon the popular Harold Gray comic strip Little Orphan Annie, with music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and book by Thomas Meehan. The original Broadway production opened in 1977 and ran for nearly six years, setting a record for the Alvin Theatre (now the Neil Simon Theatre). 3It spawned numerous productions in many countries, as well as national tours, and won the Tony Award for Best Musical. The musical's songs "Tomorrow" and "It's the Hard Knock Life" are among its most popular musical numbers.

This performance is supported, in part, by a grant from the Louisiana State Arts Council, through the Louisiana Division of the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts and administered through the Acadiana Center for the Arts.

Tickets are $15 and will be on sale starting June 28. Advance tickets may be purchased at Delaunes' Pharmacy, Paul’s Flower Shop, The Daily Iberian, Eventbrite.com or by calling the theater (337-364-6114) and leaving a message. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.
