ADVOCATING FOR WOMENS HEALTH

March is International Women's Month, the perfect time to focus on the impact of awareness, research and advocacy for women, who are 1.5x more likely to experience a brain aneurysm.

TBF Health Equity Research

TBF has been committed to health equity research, through the foresight of TBF Ambassador Elizabeth Ratta. Elizabeth pioneered the TBF Rita Skertich Health Equity Grant is intended to fund research that focuses on the prevention and treatment of brain aneurysms in the Black and Hispanic population and women: the populations most affected by brain aneurysms.

Natália Vasconcellos, MD, MSC, the first recipient of the grant is currently underway at the Mayo Clinic. Her work focuses on economic, geographic and demographic differences across multiple academic research centers.
