CLUB #69

SERVING THE RICHMOND

COMMUNITY SINCE 1913

December 2025

Volume 25 Issue 12

Annual Fund Drive

As we look ahead to another impactful year of “Service Above Self,” we invite you to join us in supporting our Annual Fund Drive—a vital effort that fuels our club’s ability to make a difference locally and globally.

This year, our giving goals are:

  • Annual Grant Projects: $15,000 – to fund hands-on service initiatives and community partnerships right here in our community.
  • Club Foundation: $15,000 – to sustain our club’s long-term philanthropic impact and strengthen future projects.
  • Rotary International Foundation: $15,000 – to advance Rotary’s global mission, from eradicating polio to supporting peace, health, and clean water initiatives worldwide.

Every contribution—large or small—moves us closer to these goals and demonstrates our shared commitment to making positive change. Your support ensures that our club continues to thrive as a beacon of service, fellowship, and leadership.

Please complete and return the attached Pledge Form to indicate your financial support of our club’s fundraising goals no later than December 31, 2025. We ask that everyone give to the best of their ability and emphasize 100% club participation. Together, we can meet—and exceed—our $45,000 total goal.

If you would like to contribute your pledge in the 2025 calendar year for tax purposes, you may send a check payable to Rotary Activities, Inc., PO Box 17664, Richmond, Virginia, 23226-7664.

You may also go on-line to THE Rotary Club of Richmond’s website and contribute via credit card. Please include in the memo 2025-2026 PLEDGE.

Thank you for your continued generosity and dedication to The Rotary Club of Richmond’s mission. Because of you, our work truly changes lives every day.

Yours in Rotary Service,

William Cabell, President

Bob Hicks, Annual Fund Drive Chair

Project Warm

Did you know Project Warm is celebrating 49 years of service?

Started in 1979, Project Warn volunteers have split wood at the wood lot and delivered wood to individuals who depend on wood only for their heat source.

Since 1994, Project Warm volunteers have traveled 33,000+ miles and have made deliveries to 8,000+ individuals!

All those deliveries today would fill an equivalent of 4,000+ full size pick up trucks with 2100 cords of wood, an estimated worth of $682,662 in today's market!

Contact Joe Kelleher via email with questions or if you know of a good lead!

Let's continue to make an impact for another 49 years.

Change of Venue Coming in 2026

The club’s first meeting of the year is Tuesday, January 6thStarting in the new year, we will hold our lunch meetings at Lakeside Park Club (formerly Jefferson Lakeside) until we are able to move back to Willow Oaks when their construction projects conclude. This should take a year, maybe more.

Lakeside Park Club (formerly Jefferson Lakeside)

1700 Lakeside Ave

Richmond, VA 23228

Lakeside has been very accommodating and will provide us a first-class alternative to Willow Oaks. The Board thanks Bonnie Predd for the extensive research and effort she put into finding a temporary home for our club. Lunch will be $26.50 and we ask members pay by card.

Whether you are relatively new to the club or a long-serving member, The Rotary Club of Richmond has been serving Richmond for more than a century; do you have your copy of this history? Copies are now available; $20 soft copies; $30 hard copies.
