Father Christmas Party

The Rotary Club of Richmond has adopted a family this year to purchase gifts for 3 boys, Josiah (9), Jeremiah (4) and Joshua (16 months). Their dad, Devin Jackson, is a great father but needs some help this year with gifts. Read Devin's story check the Sign Up Genius for gift items needed. We thank you for your generosity this year as so many families who have very little during the holidays and parents struggle to make ends meet.

Please bring your wrapped gifts to our Rotary meeting, Tuesday, December 17, to be presented during the Father Christmas Party that evening 6:00 - 9:00 pm.

The FOUR-WAY TEST of the things we think, say or do:

Meet Our Newest Members

Joanna Ibrahim

Q1. What drew you to the Rotary Club of Richmond?

Both my brother and my father are members of the Rotary Club in other parts of the world, and I just moved down here from New York City for my first job out of college and I was looking for a way to give back to the local community here in Richmond.

Q2. Share with us a recent volunteer project/organization in which you have participated.

Last summer, I went to Tanzania for a couple of weeks where I volunteered with a local charity to demolish and rebuild a kitchen at an orphanage.

Q3. Our club enjoys our socials. What is a favorite place of yours in Richmond?

I’m a foodie, so I enjoy going to The Tobacco Company, Lolita’s for the best tacos, and Dumplings & Noodles for the best dumplings.

Q4. What does "service above self" mean to you?

It's about finding purpose in contributing to the greater good and knowing that the impact I make, no matter how small, can create positive change in someone else's life.
