This ongoing effort includes evaluating traffic and parking throughout several areas of the village, including regulations governing commercial vehicle parking and permits.
The Village would like to remind residents and business owners of the current regulations concerning commercial vehicle parking. Under existing Village law:

For the week of June 8, 2026, Con Edison’s crews will be continuing their work along South Broadway and Church Street as follows:
- Work will be proceeding all week on Broadway at Leroy Avenue and Church Street
- Work will be proceeding during the week on Church Street. The gas main work is complete, but they will be continuing service line connection insertions from the main to the individual homes, with the final installation of the gas main and then filling the excavations as they move along
- The sidewalk on the west side of Broadway from Church Street to Prospect Avenue will be closed all week to pedestrian through-traffic, since it will be a construction area
- Next week – Tappan Landing work will take place at the intersection and crosswalk area.
Final paving of roads in the area will take place at some time in the future, after the gas main work in this area including Broadway, Church Street and Tappan Landing has been finished.
| Fire Hydrant Flushing and Testing | |
ValveTek Utility Services will be in the area performing Fire Hydrant lubrication and flow and pressure testing starting on the South End and working their way through the village for approximately 4 weeks. By doing this service, it helps extend the asset life of the hydrants, reduce long-term maintenance costs and builds a dataset for future capital and operational decisions. The anticipated start date for this work is Monday, June 15th.
| | Phase 8 Water Main Replacement | | Work will commence on or about Monday, June 22nd for the Phase 8 Water Main Replacement starting at Hillside Avenue. Neighbor notifications will be sent out. | |
Future Happenings from your Tarrytown Harbormaster, Kevin Lustik
With the 250th year of Independence soon to celebrated, there are important things to be considered. If you are a boater and heading for NY Harbor during any of the displays, you must not approach any Military ship within 100 yds when it is stationary or 500 yds when it is underway. It is a Federal violation and will be met with force After a warning has been issued by Marine radio Channel 16 by the Coast Guard or any other enforcement authority having jurisdiction, namely Homeland Security, NYPD and and USCG unit. All agencies will be monitoring from waterborne craft in addition to extensive helicopter air units. When a security zone is announced on channel 16 or 22, it must be adhered to. The Hudson River corridor will be part of an OP Sail and various air shows for a few soon to be announced days.
Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow will be hosting the usual fireworks a few minutes after 9:00pm on Saturday, July 4th. There will also be a reenactment showing of a British vessel being captured in the Tarrytown Harbor by local Volunteers at 7:00pm.
Please enjoy this Boating Season and Celebrate the 250th!

Notice of Scam: Applicants Be Aware
Applicants to our Land Use Boards and recipients of Building Permits have been targeted by scammers recently. Please be cautious of any requests for payment from the Village of Tarrytown. Please confirm that the email address of a Village communication ends in "@tarrytownny.gov." If it does not, please call our Department to confirm that we sent you a communication.
Scammers have been sending notices that are very similar to letters sent by our departments with minor differences. For instance, instead of the "Planning Board" or "Planning Department" the email is from the "Planning Commission" which is not the appropriate Department title. The email address from which the email is sent is "Planning.VillageOfTarrytownNY@usa.com." This is not a Village email address.
Please be very cautious of any emails requesting payment, and if you have doubts please confirm by calling the Village department in question.

| The Village has been participating in a demand response program through Sustainable Westchester over the last few years, and this past year was recognized as a top revenue earner. Demand Response involves reducing energy usage during a few peak times during the year, usually on the hottest of summer days, when energy use is atits peak and it is challenging for the utilities to provide enough to meet the demand. On peak days they have to turn to the dirtiest most expensive form of power generation to meet the demand, so it is in their interest to incentivize customers to reduce usage. Tarrytown earned $5,839 through its participation. Regular households can also participate. Interested in signing up? Visit the Grid Rewards program through Sustainable Westchester. |
