Researchers Seeking Information About Experience with Hazard Insurance
Share your experiences with flood and wind insurance!
For many homeowners, insurance for storm impacts brings a variety of challenges.
Our team at Cornell University is studying homeowners’ experience with flood and wind insurance. Our goal is to understand how homeowners make decisions about insuring their homes. We hope this work can promote insurance practices and policies that better meet people’s varied needs.
We are interviewing homeowners from varied backgrounds across the Hudson River region. You do not have to be insured to take part; we want to learn both from people who do and do not insure. You must be at least 18 years old. We will compensate participants for their time.
We are interviewing people in person and remotely. Interviews last between 40 and 100 minutes. We ask about your experiences getting or not getting flood and wind insurance as well as in dealing with losses from wind or floods. We will work with you to set a time and place that work for you.
If you are interested in an in-person interview, we will be in the area October 9th to 11th. Please reach out if you are interested or have any questions!
