For today’s Third Space Connection, we thought it might be helpful to provide a rundown of changes in the state as of May 1, as well as some best practices to keep in mind.
Phase One of Open Up and Recover Safely
, which went into full effect on May 1, allows the following businesses to open: Hair salons, barbershops, spas, nail salons, tattoo parlors and pet groomers (by appointment only); state parks and outdoor recreation; and dining, entertainment, movie theatres, gyms, sporting venues and places of worship (using CDC-recommended social distancing and sanitation protocols). Social gatherings of more than 10 people remain prohibited.
But remember, just because some businesses are open
does not mean that the risk is gone
! If anything, an increase in cases may be likely as more people return to work and shopping. Many businesses that are allowed by law to reopen are staying closed or operating by timed appointments to protect workers and customers.
