And this is the testimony of John. When the Jews from Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to him to ask him, “Who are you?” he admitted and did not deny it, but admitted, “I am not the Christ.” So they asked him, “What are you then? Are you Elijah?” And he said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” He answered, “No.” So they said to him, “Who are you, so we can give an answer to those who sent us? What do you have to say for yourself?” He said:

“I am the voice of one crying out in the desert, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord."  ~John 1

From The Pastor

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

Here is a popular question: Because Christmas Eve falls on the weekend, would attending just ONE Mass next weekend suffice for the entire Sunday obligation AND the Christmas obligation? The answer is no. One would need to choose one Advent Mass on Saturday/Sunday morning and choose one Christmas Eve or Christmas morning Mass.

Here is the complete schedule below for next weekend:

4pm Saturday, December 23rd, Advent - Christ the King

8am Sunday, December 24th, Advent - St. Cecilia

9:30am Sunday, December 24th, Advent - St. Margaret Mary

11:00am Sunday, December 24th, Advent - Christ the King

Then the Christmas Schedule begins!

The Christmas schedule is as follows:

 · 4pm Sunday, Christmas Eve, December 24th - St. Margaret Mary

· 10pm Sunday, Christmas Eve, December 24th - Christ the King

· 8am Monday, Christmas Day - St. Cecilia

· 9:30am Monday, Christmas Day - St. Margaret Mary

· 11:00am Monday, Christmas Day - Christ the King

May God richly bless you and your family.

See you soon!

Thank You

from The Giving Tree

Thank you! Last week the Parish provided over 325 gifts and over 5,000 items of food to families in need. With over $1,500 in cash donations, we were able to purchase fresh food items (ham, butter, apples, potatoes, onions and bread) from Herrema's Marketplace at cost and provide them to the families.

All of these donations went to benefit families associated with the Villa of Hope, the House of Mercy and St. Francis Xavier Cabrini. And, new this year, due to your overwhelming generosity, additional food was donated to the Irondequoit Community Cupboard and St. Andrew's Food Cupboard.

Thank you again to all the Parishioners who were able to donate their time, talent and treasure in support of the 2023 Giving Tree Program, which has helped these families to have a Merry Christmas!

Please Return 2023-24 Missalettes to Our Churches

Thank you to Christine Bondi and our teens who are preparing to celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation for changing over our missalettes prior to the First Sunday of Advent.

We have recently experienced a shortage of missalettes in each of the churches of Saint Kateri Parish. If you have taken the newest edition of the missalette home, we kindly ask that you return it to the church that it was taken from.

Thank you for your understanding in keeping the missalettes in our churches for all to share.

Spotlight on Saints & the Eucharist

Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque

Saint Margaret Mary was very devoted to the Eucharist. Saint Margaret Mary was born in 1647 in the Burgundy region of France.

She said, “Let every knee bend before Thee, O greatness of my God, so supremely humbled in the Sacred Host. May every heart love Thee, every spirit adore Thee and every will be subject to Thee!

She experienced visions of Christ, and Jesus showed her His heart is full of love and promise. She preferred silent prayer, and is the patron saint of those suffering with polio, and for those whose parents have died.

She died on October 17 1690 in France, and her feast day is October 16.
