Season 7

Facts you may not know:

The show "Outlander" has sparked a Scots tourism boom to Scotland with visits to many tourist sites topping over five million visitors. In the past couple of years, Author Diana Gabaldon was given the “International Contribution to Scottish Tourism” award at the Scottish Thistle Awards for the 'Outlander Effect’ on Scotland’s tourism industry. She has also received the "Great Scot" Award from The National Trust for Scotland as well as the "Robert Burns Literary Award" from the St. Andrew's Society of Los Angeles.

GOLF

The modern game of golf is considered to be a Scottish invention. The spokesman for The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, one of the oldest Scottish golf organizations, is quoted as saying "Golf as we know it today, played over 18 holes, clearly originated in Scotland."

NEW MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Benjamin Falacci

Ben Falacci is a Los Angeles based writer and comedian. He grew up on Cape Cod in Massachusetts and studied political science at George Washington University. Ben connected with his Scottish heritage (Clan Muir) while studying abroad at the University of Edinburgh. You can see Ben perform comedy at his monthly stand-up show The Lion’s Den on the last Wednesday of every month at the Red Lion Tavern in Silver Lake. This August, Ben will be taking his one-man show "Shower Chair" to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. While in Scotland, he plans on buying a long over due Kilt (finally!).

CHVRCHESS



(New Single)

Hailing from Glasgow, CHVRCHES was formed in 2011 with lead singer Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook on guitar/bass and Martin Doherty on backup vocals and synths/samplers. The group is considered the premier Scottish electronic band with occasionally synths and samplers and launches their new single here in America on the Jimmy Fallon show (click below).
