  • Growing need for places for people to connect and be during increased COVID restrictions
  • Rise in financial insecurity as people are challenged with transitioning from CERB to other supports
  • Continuing Challenge to access funds and benefits, running out of creative solutions
  • Increase of crisis needs (calls to Neighbourlink doubled in last month)

Emerging Initiatives:
  • Kinsmen Christmas Hampers need Gift cards and Toys
  • Hot Christmas supper (partnership of Lighthouse Church and New Life Church)
  • Support the Hot Christmas Supper by joining Run for Hunger
  • Help for Hard Times Card
  • PCN hires 2 additional Community Connectors (one for Dementia clients, one to support Behaviour Health Consultants)
  • TriCala and PFK partnering to meet technology needs of Homeless clients
  • Parkland Food Bank offers extended hours for extra clients (1136 spots) accessing Christmas Hampers; clients receptive to new Gift Certificates provided by Kinsmen allowing them to shop for own needs.
  • PFK working with clients to help them maintain family relationships during Christmas season
  • Learn more about HelpSeeker and their new assessment tool, Frontline Worker webinar Dec 9, 10AM

  • Challenge of individuals/businesses/organizations to manage a second lock down and new restrictions

Emerging Initiatives:
  • Community Carolling day: December 21 at 7p.m. Tune in to 88.1, step out on your driveway and sing! Enter your videos at #TriRegionCarols for a chance to win a prize pack.
  • Alberta Parenting for the Future Association will be hosting sessions on Growing up LGBTQ2S+ with separate sessions for youth and parents and a session on Inclusivity via zoom.
