Several organizations have reported an increase in violence from residents. Police are responding to calls that are more violent with usually underlying mental health concerns. All encouraged to use Access 24/7 for mental health supports. To access the R-APCT team, it must be a police referral.
Personal safety has been identified as an issue at the Stony Plain Skate Park. Enforcement teams are actively trying to increase a presence at the park and working to engage youth.

Identified group of isolated citizens who are really suffering during COVID-19 include adults with developmental disabilities living in group home settings. Many of their daily routines and places to connect have been closed, along with limited family visits. They are relying on their staff for all their social connections. This can be said for all persons living in residential group settings, including youth and long term care centres.
