Dr. Lawrence Prybil Named to Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky Board
“We’ve had the tremendous privilege of working with Larry for many months, as he donated considerable time and expertise to our governance review process,” said Ben Chandler, president and CEO of the Foundation. “Without exception, his contributions have been key to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the foundation’s governance structure. I am certain that Larry will be among the most active and engaged board members in the foundation’s history.”

Thompson Prize for Young Investigators
Dr. Hefei Wen formally received the John D. Thompson Prize for Young Investigators from the Association of University Programs in Healthcare Administration, and shared the moment with her Health Management and Policy Colleagues. Dr. Wen was nominated for the prize by Dr. Ty Borders. Below she is joined by Dr. Julia Costich and Dr. Teresa Waters as they place the Thompson Prize on display in the HMP department offices.

Departure from CPH
Dr. Christy Brady, lecturer in Health Management and Policy, has accepted a position in the UK College of Health Sciences. The College of Public Health wishes Dr. Brady well in her future endeavors.

Poster Presentation: Bronchiectasis
Radmila Choate, MPH, Data Analyst in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health, and a doctoral student in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. presented at the 3rd World Bronchiectasis Conference in Washington, DC, last week. Her poster was titled "The Clinical features of Bronchiectasis associated with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, Common Variable Immunodeficiency, and Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia."

Dr. Richard Clayton is a co-author of the multi-site publication "Immediate effects of a brief intervention to prevent alcohol and medication interactions among older adults," appearing in the journal Health Education Research. Dr. Faika Zanjani, Virginia Commonwealth University, is lead author.

Dr. Richard Crosby is a co-author of the multi-site publication "Disclosure of Sexual Behavior is Significantly Associated with Receiving a Panel of Healthcare Services Recommended for Men Who Have Sex with Men," appearing in the journal Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Dr. Vidisha Singh, CDC, is the lead author.
