The needs of our friends and neighbors in Tompkins County, have grown and deepened due to the health and economic crisis created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
UWTC has distributed all gifts contributed for COVID-19 relief efforts to local nonprofits within 1-2 weeks of receipt, and more needs are being considered weekly.
Local human services agencies have both the expertise and experience to address these needs, but require financial support to gather materials and other resources to facilitate healing for the community and individuals.
When you donate to UWTC’s Community Care Fund, you support nearly 50 local nonprofits.
Once the virus has subsided and the economy has reopened the effects that this crisis is having on individuals, families, and neighborhoods will not disappear. Agencies will continue to need our support, even when it begins to feel like things have returned to normal.
As always,100% of your gift will go to programs and services for those who need it most.
Now is the time to give.
You will be eligible for a tax deduction up to $300.
The $2 trillion COVID-19 stimulus package signed into law last week included a universal tax break for gifts to charitable organizations in the 2020 tax year.
The measure grants taxpayers an above-the-line deduction for up to $300 in charitable donations.
This means that people who give $300 to nonprofit organizations like United Way of Tompkins County this year, and take the standard deduction, will receive an additional $300 tax deduction. Now is the perfect time to make a difference in people's lives, and take advantage of this “above-the-line” opportunity.
Now is the time to give.
Thank you!
