"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us ."

~ J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
Dear Women Engaging,

One week later and we find ourselves a bit more hunkered down, giving those on the front lines and the vulnerable among us the best chance to ride the wave of this virus! While we didn't ask for this moment and will be relieved when it comes to an end, we've been given a chance, a choice to embark on a new adventure.

We can choose to bide our time squeezing old habits into somewhat familiar routines, indulging our "what if" scenarios, and streaming endless news hoping for some sense of control and certainty. OR we can fix our eyes on Hope Himself.

This week our Tuesday Bible Study finished up the Gospel of Mark by studying the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus. We pondered His tremendous suffering and humiliating death, but we also breathed in His resurrection life! Jesus is the master of bringing life and light to dead and dark places.

If we continue to use this unprecedented, disruptive moment to plant our roots deeply into Jesus, He will bring to bear a renewal and revival harvest indicative of a time well spent. He will do it! We just have to join Him.

What will you do with the time you've been given?

Yours in Christ,
Lynsey
