Most of us in South Florida know there is a price to pay for living in paradise. That price is tropical storms and hurricanes.
nearing Puerto Rico, if you haven't already done so, the time to prepare is NOW!
Now is the time to get to the grocery store for all your supplies. Make sure you have enough food and water for your family, including pets to last during the storm and the first 72 hours after the storm passes as emergency vehicles may not be able to access all roads right after the storm.
If you are going to evacuate, make sure to do so sooner rather than right before the storm. The roads will be heavily congested with others also evacuating.
Broward Emergency Management
has a wealth of information for before and after the storm, including pet friendly shelters and how to report any damage to your home.
If you haven't already done so, please sign up for the City's
notifications to be kept up to date on what's happening during the storm. The City will also be pushing out robocalls with important information.
Above all else, please stay safe and stay aware while we head into the rest of the week and into the weekend as we know just how unpredictable these storms can be.
