SASEAS families,
Thank you so much for your kind words of support and prayers as I begin a new role here at SASEAS as principal. I ask for your patience and prayers as I “learn the ropes” and get a more consistent idea of my schedule and routine. I look forward to continuing to move our school forward as “Passionately Catholic and Academically Excellent.”

I am pleased to announce that Mr.  Paul Estes has accepted the position of assistant principal at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Campus and Mrs.  Ellen Beiersdorfer has accepted the position of assistant principal at the St. Andrew Campus. I am grateful to both for taking on this role in addition to their teaching duties. It will be a great help for me to have a contact person at both campuses when I am unable to be there.  Please feel free to contact them at their respective campus with any issues or concerns and they can report to me as necessary. Mr. Estes’s email address is estesp@saseas.org and Mrs. Beiersdorfer’s email address is beiersdorfere@saseas.org

Preschool News

Happy New Year! The Preschool staff and I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break. The theme in all our preschool classes this first week of January is “SNOW”.

While they are awaiting the first snow of 2019, our 3’s classes are learning about the colors blue and white, playing with “instant snow “at the science table, and creating snow globes in art. They are each doing a mini presentation as they discuss their “Me and My Family Show and Tell” project with their class. In religion they are learning that “I Can Talk”, and they can use their voice to talk about God.

Our 4’s classes are making snowmen out of shaving cream and painting melted snowmen in art. In their writing centers they are learning about the letter “K” and are writing the sight word “snow”. In math they are matching snowflakes and learning about snowflake symmetry. The religion lesson this week is “God Made the Weather”. In science they are making snow and observing melting ice.

The Pre-K class is learning about the letter “J” and the number “5”. Their sight word is “on”, but they are also learning to write the word “snow” and are writing words to complete the sentence, “These boots are made for _______”. They are developing their fine motor skills while making snowmen out of ripped paper in art, and in science they are making snow from baking soda and hair conditioner. In religion they are learning about the Epiphany and the Gifts of the Magi.

Seton Cafeteria Help Needed!

Hello Parents! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break! Maybe one of your New Year’s resolutions is to see your children at school! One wonderful way to do this is to volunteer in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton campus cafeteria.

The time required is  from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  (at the latest). You will be helping to serve lunch and then assist with cleanup. You could volunteer weekly, every other week, once a month or whatever works best with your schedule. No commitment of time is too little! Also, younger siblings are more than welcome to come. They can sit with their siblings while you serve lunch. Kristi Phillips, the kitchen manager, is more than welcoming to the little ones and definitely spoils them!

We are blessed to be able to have a hot lunch program, as it is getting more difficult for smaller and private schools to have this program. We are only able to continue this by providing volunteers, using non-disposable trays, cups and utensils and having minimal paid kitchen staff. In fact, as part of the agreement with Milford Nutrition Services, to provide our school with a hot lunch and to keep our costs down, we need to provide three volunteers everyday at lunch time. This is why the need is great!

I know everyone's time is very valuable these days, but please consider giving a little of it to helping out in the Seton campus cafeteria this year.

If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions, please email, text or call Jill Reineck -  jillreineck@yahoo.com  or  513-256-3692 . Again, no commitment of time is too little and is most appreciated!

Thank you so much to all of you for making our SASEAS Catholic School the very best!

Thank you,
Jill Reineck
