Greetings From Mr. Grieco....

SASEAS families,
Well Catholic School’s Week did not go as planned as Mother Nature did not cooperate last week! While it was nice be home with family for a few days, we unfortunately were not able to do many of our scheduled activities. As a result, we have rescheduled some activities for the next couple of weeks.
Seton is having pajama day today and St. Andrew will have pajama day next Thursday, February 14. Our teacher vs. student volleyball games have also been rescheduled. The 8
th
grade will play the teachers this Friday, February 8 starting at 11 am. The fifth grade will play the teachers on February, 14 starting at 1 pm. They will start playing the teachers at 2:30.
Come out and watch the fun! Also remember to send in your items for the St. Vincent de Paul. We are collecting until this Friday, February, 8. Thank you to all of you who have sent in items already!
Congratulations to Isabella, Elizabeth, Taylor, Vivien, Maggie, and Brody for receiving the St. Andrew Character Award for the month of January. The trait was self-disciplined.
Current and new student registration
is underway and has been extended until February 14. We asked for all current families to return their registration or notice to not reenroll by this date. This is very important as we begin making plans for next school year.
The registration fee will increase by $50 after Thursday, February 14, so please return those as soon as possible.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school office.
Our
Titan Mardi Gras
FUNdraiser is only 23 days away! This year, it is scheduled for
March 2
, 6:30 p.m. A Titan Madness steering committee meeting will be held Tuesday, February 12, 7:30 p.m. Anyone interested in helping is invited to attend Look for a sign-up genius notification coming soon if you are interested in volunteering the night of the event. Information will be coming out soon about grade-level baskets, tickets, student art, and more! Contact Angela Foulks at
[email protected]
if you have any questions.
As added incentive to come to Titan Mardi Gras, the grade level that has the highest percentage of families attending will win a week out-of-uniform plus a pizza party lunch with Mr. Grieco. Friends who attend will count for the family that invited them. So get out there and invite your friends and neighbors to join us on March 2 and win your child’s class a week out of uniform and an awesome pizza party.
Finally, the 8
th
grade boys’ final home basketball games are scheduled for this Saturday, February 9 at 7pm and 8 pm in the Seton gym. Come out early to these games to help recognize and cheer on our student-athletes! Go Titans!

Preschool News
The inclement weather last week had our preschoolers missing school, so children are making up some work from last week as well as starting new.
Our 3’s classes are learning about Valentine’s day. They are decorating bags in which to put their Valentines, and creating tissue paper hearts in art. They are focusing on the letter “P” and working on their fine motor skills with heart shaped cookie cutters and red and pink Play Doh. In religion they are learning that “I Can Smile”.
Our 4’s classes are learning about the Five Senses this week. In their writing centers they are learning about the letter “O”, the number “10”, and are writing the sight word “love”. In math they are sorting 3D shapes. In science they are focusing on the senses of taste and smell. They will graph their favorite tastes and will explore different smells with scented Play Doh and scented markers. The religion lesson this week is “God Made the Church”.
The Pre-K class is learning about the letter “C”, the number “8”, and the sight word “at”. The theme in the Pre-K class is “Healthy Heart”. They are making a food pyramid in art and, after reading the book Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, they are completing the sentence “I wish it would rain _____”. In science they are learning to sort healthy food and junk food. In religion they are learning that “Hearts are Good”, and that Jesus loves us.
Preschool Open Registration is underway. Space is still available in some of our morning sessions and most of our afternoon sessions. If you would like a registration packet for an incoming three, four, or five-year-old please contact the Preschool office at (513) 575-9900.
