Dear SASEAS school families,

2019 – 2020 school year registration is ongoing . If you should need assistance of any kind please don’t hesitate to call the school office .  Should you have any questions or concerns, please schedule a time to come in and speak with me. We are asking all current families to return their registration or notice to not re-enroll as soon as possible.

Be sure to save the date for “A Titan in Monte Carlo” on March 7th. Tickets for the grand raffle – a year of free tuition or $3,000 cash – are being sold by school families now. They are $30 each or 3 for $75. Tickets can be turned in to the school offices anytime. Final raffle ticket turn in is February 28.

Tickets for attending the event have been mailed out. Please return your RSVP card by mail or to either school office. Cost is $30 for a single ticket or $50 for a couple, or a table of 8 for $250.00. Please join us for an evening of fun and fellowship as we raise money for our school!

Congratulations to our Seton campus students who received Saint Awards this week. The Saint of the month was St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and the virtue was “service.” 

Congratulations to Alex Serger and Vivien Kern for advancing to Power of the Pen Regionals. Good luck girls!

The annual  Iowa Assessment  (grades 3-7) and  Cognitive Abilities Test  (grades 2 and 5) is coming up.The bulk of the testing for both campuses will take place on February 24 – March 6. This will be the second year grades 4 – 7 will be taking the test online. Please try to avoid scheduling appointments during these mornings.

Preschool News

Hearts abound this week in the preschool as we prepare for our Valentine’s parties. The children are very excited to be exchanging Valentine’s and enjoying the terrific parties planned by our wonderful parents.

The theme in our 3-year-old classes is Valentine’s Day. Mrs. Maura’s 3-year-old classes are writing a Valentine’s message and decorating a frame with candy hearts. The Valentine message they wrote will go in the frame. In religion they are learning the “Jesus Loves Me” song along with the sign language for that song. Now they can both sign and sing that Jesus loves them! Mrs. Christina’s 3-year-old class is learning about the color pink. They are making the color pink in art by mixing red and white paint. They are working on Valentine patterns in math. In religion they are learning about “God’s love for us”.

Our 4-year-old classes are also focused on Valentine’s Day this week. They are decorating their Valentine bags in art. Their letter this week is “P” and the sight word is “play”. Mrs. Alison’s class is making Peacocks in art, and Mrs. Liz and Mrs. Sheila’s classes are painting with heart shaped cookie cutters. All the four-year-old classes are making candy heart patterns in math and using a scale to weigh different items with candy hearts in science. The religion lesson this week is “Valentine’s Day”.

Mrs. Wendy’s 5-year-old class is learning about the letter “R”, the number “20”, and the sight word “are”. The theme in the Pre-K class is “Valentine’s Day”. In art they are making an “I Love You to Pieces” Valentine. They are matching uppercase and lower case letters as well as letter sounds in writing, and performing heart addition in math. In religion they are learning that “St. Valentine is Good”.

Preschool Open Registration is underway. Space is still available in some of our morning sessions and most of our afternoon sessions. If you would like a registration packet for an incoming three or four-year-old child please contact the Preschool office at (513) 575-9900.

Financial Assistance

The EdChoice Expansion Scholarship program administered by the State of Ohio. This award is based on the number of people in your household and your gross annual income for students in grades Kindergarten through grade 8.

Long Range Planning Committee Update

THANK YOU! for spreading the word about how awesome our school is and our January Open House. We had over 20 new families attend open house! With 24 kindergartners registered for the Fall and multiple shadow days scheduled over the next few weeks, we are off to an amazing start. 

We hope that you will continue to spread the word and pray for our school as we keep the momentum going by opening the Seton doors for a second look on April 2, 2020, in the evening. More information will be coming soon including a special night just for potential St. Andrew students!

Box Tops

February is BOX TOP$ collection month!

Box Tops can be turned in February 10-25. 

How to turn them in:
1.   Trim your Box Top$ and tape or glue them to the Box Top$ worksheets found on SASEAS PTO web page.
2.  All bonus Box Top$ should be put in envelopes with family name and homeroom information marked on the outside.
3.  Please do not turn in expired Box Top$, these cannot be sent in and will not count towards your family total.
4.  Submit Box Top$ by FAMILY, with each child and homeroom clearly labeled.

   25 Box Top$ = 1 child out-of-uniform
   50 Box Top$ = family out-of-uniform
Summer Solutions

By spending just minutes a day with Summer Solutions, students get the practice they need to keep moving forward. It was designed to help students return to school after summer break confident in the skills they’ve already learned and ready to master new ones.

Seton Summer Camp

Are you looking for a fun time for your kids this summer? Give Seton Summer Camp a try!
Camp is open June 8th- August 7th from 7:00AM-6:00PM, (Closed July 3). Come for a couple of days, a week, or all summer! Activities include bowling at Eastgate Lanes, swimming, a trip to the Nature Center, pizza lunch Fridays, and lots of other field trips.

Raffle Tickets
Keep those Raffle tickets coming in! The child that sells the winning ticket will win their choice of an IPad or Apple Watch!!! The winner will be pulled live during the event, and you do not need to be present to win! If you are in need of more tickets, please stop by either school office for more. The more you sell the higher your chances to win! Tickets can be turned in to the school offices anytime. Final turn in date is February, 28th.
PTO News

Join your friends and family at Freddy's, 907 Oh-28 Milford on the First Tuesday of every month! Starting January, 2020 thru and including June, 2020 - 4-8 PM.
SASEAS will receive a percentage of the sales from this event. Be sure to tell the cashier you are part of our group.

Our next restaurant fundraiser is Wednesday, February 19 from 11:00 - 11:00 PM at Butterbee's. 10% of sales will go to our school. All you need to do is present this flyer to your server or show it to your server from your phone.

SMILE Game Night at Sem Villa
Our monthly game night at at Sem Villa will be Thursday February 20 from 6:30-8pm. All current 6-12th grade teens are welcome. Come work on a puzzle or do a craft with the residents at Sem. Please email Catherine ( ) if you plan to attend.
Junior High Youth Rally
Awake is a Junior High youth rally that seeks to accompany 6-8th  grade students through a FREE event that includes opportunities for fellowship, worship and encounter. Awake features a meal, entertainment, music, games, small group conversation, a keynote testimony, Eucharistic adoration and the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Awake will take place on Saturday, March 14th at Roger Bacon High School. Please let Catherine know if you would like to attend by emailing . Adult chaperones will be needed.

SMILE Family Bingo

Start practicing your victory dance, and plan to join us for an afternoon of indoor fun at FAMILY BINGO on Sunday, February 23 at the St. Andrew Parish Center! 

Family members of all ages are welcome to attend and play. The event will feature prizes galore - including door prizes, a basket raffle and prizes for each winning bingo! Delicious food will also be available to purchase - so please plan to join us for lunch.

Doors open at 12:00pm, and Bingo will begin at 1:00pm. Cost is $5.00 per person, with all proceeds helping offset the cost of the high school SMILE Youth Group summer mission trip to Detroit.

Marlins Water Polo

Marlins Water Polo is open to boys and girls ages 8-18. We welcome brand new players to the national team players. Marlins Water Polo offers high level coaching from High School Varsity Coaches and former collegiate coaches to provide a positive, fun and learning atmosphere. We offer a chance to compete both locally and nationally for all levels of players. The Marlins offer Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter sessions to fit the needs of all types of players.

Water Polo Practice Information
Practices starting March 30th for 8 weeks and then again for 8 weeks in the summer for the summer session.
Location: Sycamore High School
Times: Mondays and Wednesdays at 730pm

This Sunday is our first Parent meeting and info session for the season and we will be holding another one on Feb 16th. Both meetings will be held at Sycamore High School in the team meeting room next to the pool if parents are interested.
