Message from Executive Director
Dear Friends,
We have so much happening at the Synagogue! There is literally something almost every day this month. This week I wanted to share with you a special event happening this weekend and encourage you to join us.
Film Screening of Itzhak – Saturday, October 6th
Did you know you are only one degree of separation from the famous Israeli violinist Itzhak Perlman? Find out how you are connected at a screening of "Itzhak" this Saturday night in the chapel at 8 PM.
Our own Sam Fischer, who grew up at University Synagogue, and Dennis Karmazyn, who solos for us on Kol Nidre, know and have worked with Perlman. They will demonstrate some of Perlman's teaching concepts and perform live for us.
The evening starts with wine, cheese and dessert at 7 PM. We'll end with a post-performance social hour with dessert. Tickets are $50 and will help support more films to be shown throughout the year.
For questions, please contact the University Synagogue office at  info@unisyn.org  or at 310-472-1255, or click the link below.
Click the banner above or the button below to register for the UniSyn Film Society Fundraiser! If you have any questions, please email Lauren Kaplan at membership@unisyn.org .
University Synagogue Payment Policy Update

Please be advised that effective immediately, University Synagogue will no longer be accepting cash payments . Moving forward acceptable payment forms are:

• Check
• Money order
• Cashier’s check
• Visa or MasterCard

As this is a change in our policy, it would be helpful to send this out to our schools to let parents know of this change. Please forward any questions to me. I am happy to field questions or concerns. Thank you.

Toby Berkow
Executive Director

Confirmation Mitzvah in Action!

As Sukkot ended, Confirmation students bought groceries at Ralph’s as if they were family members receiving SNAP benefits (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). Each “family” was given $100 to purchase enough food for four for one week. Thanks to Margarete Feinstein for driving.
