Minister's Moment

December 9 is the second Sunday in Advent. Advent marks the beginning of the Christian Calendar. For those of us on a conscious spiritual path, it is also a time of preparation for a spiritual awakening. This Sunday, we will light the 2nd Advent candle to represent Peace. This candle honors the peace we feel in our hearts knowing that something wonderful is coming. A sure sign that you are on a conscious spiritual path is the experience of living with a peaceful heart. A peaceful heart is evidence that we are secure within ourselves that we are in the flow of good.

It is from a peaceful heart that I invite you to join us for this sacred journey at our Sunday Celebration services here at our Unity Center. You are also welcome to join us via live-stream at 11 am each Sunday. Our Advent Celebration will continue with the celebration of Love and Joy over the next two Sundays. Then, we will finalize Advent with the celebration of the birth of our divine nature. Traditionally speaking, this is represented by the birth of the baby Jesus at Christmas.

Christmas Eve Candle-lighting Service
Monday, December 24, 2018
8 PM
Please join us for our sacred candle-lighting ceremony as we transition from our outward Christmas activities toward a deeper, more mystical experience of birthing the Christ within our own heart and soul. This is a magical time when we can finally relax into the real Christmas experience that inspires us and fills us with love, joy and peace.

We are also asking people in our congregation to bring new or used candles and candle holders to be used at our Christmas Eve Candle-lighting service. The candles can be any size and shape. We will put the candles on a table at the front of sanctuary to be lighted for the service and they will represent the diversity of our congregation and be part of our ceremony. The candles can be brought on Sunday Morning or during week and will be available for you to take back home if you wish on Christmas Eve or the Sunday thereafter. Whether you attend the Christmas Eve service or not you can still bring a candle. These do not replace the small candles that each participant lights at the service. Thank you for your help.
