Her Beautiful Heart Was Just the Beginning... Honoring Linda Faulkner Johnston

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Linda Faulkner Johnston, Vice President of Public Relations & Communications. Her dedication, creativity, and unwavering commitment to excellence have left an indelible mark on all who knew her. As we remember Linda's remarkable contributions and the profound impact she had on our lives, we find solace in the memories we shared and the legacy she leaves behind.

Linda joined The Tradition family on September 20, 2011, serving as our Vice President of Public Relations and Communications. Her remarkable career included seven years as Nancy Reagan's social secretary in the White House during the 1980s. At The Tradition, Linda applied the invaluable lessons learned from her past to enhance our brand and ensure that our marketing materials, events, and social media presence reflected the sophistication and excellence expected by our residents.

Many had the privilege of attending Linda's etiquette presentations, where she shared her wealth of knowledge and approachable teaching style.

Her dedication to maintaining the integrity of The Tradition brand was unwavering, and she considered herself the security guard of The Tradition's identity. One of her enduring contributions is the phrase "Beauty is just the Beginning," which has become synonymous with our values.

Linda's creativity and passion were also evident in the Inspiring Person series, an idea she initiated over ten years ago. She interviewed and wrote about each inspiring individual, leaving a lasting impact on our community. One such example was a woman who started a ministry to provide socks for the homeless. Linda's article about her in November led to a significant increase in donations the following December, demonstrating her ability to inspire action and kindness.

Linda is survived by her husband, Gilbert Johnston, her father, Tom Faulkner, and her brother, Tommy Faulkner. Linda's passing leaves a void in our hearts and a profound sense of loss in our community. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
