Act Now to Protect Summer Meals for Kids

Last summer, SUN Bucks (Summer EBT) helped more than 1 million North Carolina children get the nutrition they needed when school was out. But these vital benefits are at risk unless state legislators include SUN Bucks funding in this year’s budget. Budget negotiations wrap up by October 20, so now is the time to act. Here’s how you can help in three easy steps:

  1. Contact legislators and urge them to fund SUN Bucks: bit.ly/ProtectSunBucksNC
  2. Share this message with your networks to broaden support
  3. Speak up on social media and tag key lawmakers using this message: Hunger doesn’t take a summer break. Urge NC lawmakers to fund SUN Bucks for kids. bit.ly/ProtectSunBucksNC

In Case You Missed It

Last week, we held our first community event Triad Nonprofits Get It Done: Civic Power in Action at the YWCA of High Point. It was a powerful reminder of how nonprofits serve as civic infrastructure as we connect neighbors, inform communities, and strengthen democracy. Thanks to everyone involved for making the event a success. For an event recap, email One Sector, One Voice Triad.
