Scripture for the Week
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
John 4:23-24 KJV

Prayer for the Week
Dear Lord Jesus, There is none like You Lord. You are awesome in every way. I stand in Your presence today Father, allowing Your Holy Spirit to saturate my heart and soul. Your love is so amazing. You quench my thirst. I bow before You and lift my eyes to You, as in Your presence I find refuge. You strengthen me Lord. When I worship, when I lift up my hands, I acknowledge I am Yours to command. I surrender everything that I am, when I worship. When I worship, when I bow at Your feet, revelation of Your glory I seek, not my way, Lord– but Your will I seek, when I worship. It’s not for the things that You do, not the trials You brought me through, not because You’re so faithful and true. When I worship. It’s just because I love you.
I thank You Lord God for loving me first. Thank You for making Yourself known to me. Please use me to help point others towards You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

True Worship
Submitted by Rev Cassandra Liggett
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
John 4:23-24 KJV
We are designed to worship God in the Spirit and in truth. As Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman at the well, He sought to help her do this by imparting to her God’s living water. (John 4:13-14: “Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water spring up into everlasting life”)
Jesus sought out this woman personally to give her abundant life. In the same way, the Father seeks an encounter with each of us that is real and personal. The Samaritan woman had heard about God; Jesus said true worship must be “face to face” with God. Jesus explained this in His conversation with the Samaritan woman at the well, where He clarified that while people used to focus on specific places like Mount Gerizim or Jerusalem, the time was coming when worship would be spiritual, not tied to a physical building. He stated that God is Spirit and seeks worshipers who connect with Him through their Spirit and the truth of His Word. Worship is not religion or ritual: worship is an intimate and vital encounter with a Person. True worship includes the full recognition of who God is: God is Holy, God is Righteous, God is Sovereign, God is Love, God is Merciful. The identity of God as Almighty serves to establish the sense of awe and wonder we have toward Him and the realization that He is God above all things without limitation. This is important in view of how He is described in Exodus 6:2-3: “God said to Moses, “I am the LORD. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by My name the LORD I did not make myself known to them.” How is this significant? It is significant because God, whom we previously knew only as God Almighty, has now given a new, more personal and intimate experience to Moses (and Israel). This desire on God’s part for a more personal relational relationship with mankind would culminate later when God Almighty sent His only Son to earth–God in flesh–to die on the Cross so that a way for forgiveness of our sins could be provided. The fact that God Almighty would humble Himself in this way for us makes His name all the more worthy of our praise. This recognition brings about the ‘Realization of Our Sinfulness’.
True worship is life-changing! It creates within the worshiper’s heart a hatred for sin. True worship results in repentance, obedient submission, and a desire for holiness (Is.6:1-8). True worship generates a desire to show mercy and to express forgiveness. (Romans 12:1 niv): “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God–this is your true and proper worship. It includes a joyful acceptance of all that God has provided by His grace. True worship is not exclusive. Just as the Samaritan woman rushed off to tell others of her encounter with the Lord, so true worship will compel the worshiper to include others. As a result of this woman's encounter with Jesus, many others from her village came to know Him as well. The one who has truly worshiped will have a sense of peace and a confident expectation of what God is about to do.
We have to have ‘a made up mind’ that we will not let the negativity of the enemy infiltrate. As the Pastor was nearing the close of one of his sermons he made this Declaration: (and I quote: “I won’t let the enemy trick me out of my position in God. I won’t let my mind work against what God is doing in my mind. Renew your mind! That’s the way you Worship! “Worship” - because it changes the input - so I can change the output. Worship creates an atmosphere for my mind - Worship creates an atmosphere for my thoughts. Worship produces a transformed life, reflecting the One who has been worshiped”.

On 09/20/25, the Heart to Heart ministry visited the Reformed Presbyterian Home where a resident (Ms Dot) made a drawing with thought messages to share with the children. On 09/21/25, the children colored the drawing and learned about the messages. Ms Dot was presented with a token of appreciation (pics, thanks you notes. etc) on 10/01/25 when Inspire Through Walls next visited the center.
Thanks to all involved in Ministries which brighten the day of those young and older :-).

Second Avenue Commons Service Review
I truly thank each of you for your dedicated service, performed with joy, compassion, and humility. Your efforts were truly appreciated. It was such a blessing and joy to fellowship with everyone in the kitchen and at the center.
The scripture best describes you....
In the words of the passage, "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'"
God Bless You! Char Woods
