Greetings!

While the heart of winter is still a few months away, we are beginning to witness the beauty and splendor that defines winter here in the Northern Cascades. Last week, Railroad Creek Valley had its first dusting of snow amidst the autumn yellows of cottonwood, aspen, and larch trees.

We are deeply grateful for the Fall Work Week volunteers for lending their time and talents in community projects and winter preparations. Thanks to them, year-round staff and winter guests will be able to enjoy the winter traditions.

We are also thankful for everyone who supported the Jubilee Auction -- because of your continued generosity, Holden Village can continue to be a place of recreation, and renewal for generations to come.

Consider spending time in the Village as a guest or volunteer for Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas, or New Year’s! We look forward to welcoming you for reflection, simplicity, and joyful celebration during these upcoming seasons.

Faithfully,
Stacy Kitahata, Mark Bach, and Kathie Bach

Another Successful Jubilee Auction!
Thank you to everyone who celebrated Holden's 60th anniversary through the third annual online Jubilee Auction!

As Holden continues to navigate the pandemic challenges, short staffing has required us to cap registration. We are deeply grateful to share that the 2022 Jubilee Auction raised $69,108! Your support offset the loss of guest revenue from summer and fall.

Did you miss the Auction or get outbid at the end? Consider donating to the Dining Hall Water & Ice Dispenser Fund instead! We are only $3,500 away from reaching this goal! (Please write the name of the Fund in the "comments" on the donation form.)

Fall Work Weeks
We are grateful for the Work Week volunteers who helped us deep clean and winterize unheated spaces, stack firewood, make repairs, and move thousands of pounds of food into storage over two, week-long sessions. Thank you to all who joined us for a work and relaxation while transitioning our remote community from one season to the next!
Portal Museum Groundbreaking
The Holden Village Portal Museum Project is officially underway!

Construction crews laid the foundation for the museum before the snowy season. This is just the first step for this project! We still need to fundraise for construction, exhibit design, and more. Help us preserve the legacy of Holden Village, learn from the past, and prepare for a more environmentally sound future.
